South Coast Private Hospital (SCP) delivers comprehensive and specialised care to those who have served and continue to serve our nation, recognising the unique challenges they face in maintaining mental wellbeing.

As ANZAC Day approaches, SCP’s commitment to supporting the mental health of Defence personnel shines through. We acknowledges the sacrifices and experiences of Defence members, thus offering a range of services designed to address their specific needs.

Among the services being offered are dedicated psychology sessions, trauma-informed therapies, Art Therapy, Exercise Therapy, Nutrition Therapy, Self Compassion sessions, educational sessions, and support groups focusing on issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, drug & alcohol and adjustment difficulties. The program emphasises a holistic approach to mental wellness, combining clinical expertise with a compassionate understanding of the military experience.

SCP’s decision to extend its mental health support aligns with the spirit of ANZAC Day, a time when Australians and New Zealanders commemorate the bravery and resilience of those who have served in the armed forces. The dawn service at SCP holds particular significance, serving as a reminder of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to honour and support Defence members beyond symbolic gestures.

The collaboration between SCP and Defence organisations underscores a broader societal recognition of the importance of mental health support for military personnel. As awareness grows regarding the impact of service-related trauma and stress, initiatives like SCP’s trauma programs play a crucial role in fostering resilience and recovery among Defence members.

SCP invites Defence personnel, veterans, and their families to engage with the specialised mental health services available, emphasizing that seeking support is a courageous step towards healing and well-being.

This ANZAC Day, South Coast Private Hospital stands as a beacon of hope and support, extending its heartfelt gratitude to all those who have served and continuing to provide essential mental health care to Defence members in their journey towards healing and resilience.
