Professional background
Alexia Ohtaras is a clinical psychologist registrar and is one of the Day Programs group facilitator. As a clinical psychologist registrar, Alexia has primarily worked within the private hospital setting, working with clients individually and as a facilitator of both inpatient and outpatient group therapy programs. In this role, she has worked with a number of presentations including mood and anxiety, personality and trauma-related disorders. She incorporates evidence-based treatments including CBT and DBT tailored to the individual’s needs by collaborating with clients to set and progress towards therapeutic goals. Alexia is passionate about enhancing mental health literacy and working towards eliminating harmful stigma. She aims to facilitate discovery, empowerment, and compassion in clients through empathic, nonjudgemental practice. Outside of work, Alexia enjoys building lego, reading and listening to podcasts.
