Professional background
Dr Saurabh Vatss is a consultant psychiatrist at South Coast Private Hospital who accepts referrals for inpatient and outpatients. Dr. Vatss has a keen interest to explore various unique facets of the human mind. Having completed his specialist training from New Delhi, India, He spent time exploring the real implementation of both conventional and alternative practices to manage mental health issues. Apart from usual clinical practice, he earned experience by working as Psychiatrist with Alzheimer society – New Delhi chapter managing elderly, The Mother’s clinic of Sir Aurbindo Ashram involving spiritual aspects, working with people with HIV, providing education seminars to parents of school aged children, university lecturer at The JMI University at New Delhi and working within the corporate industry to enhance efficacy of their employees.
He was part of multi-national research for Schizophrenia with an international publication. He has enriched his clinical experience by working in both the public and private sectors of India.
In Australia, he has worked across Australia which has provided him with an invaluable experience to psychiatry in Australia. Currently, he also works as consultant psychiatrist at ED and PECC unit of The Wollongong Hospital where he supervises up and coming psychiatry trainees including service development activities. He is also affiliated with ADHD network and member of adult psychiatry of RANZCP. His interest lies in personality disorders, ADHD, developmental disorders, anxiety disorders, gender dysphoria and management of acute psychiatric conditions.
Apart from conventional interventions, he practices alternative techniques such as NLP, Hypnosis, biofeedback and guided relaxation. He enjoys travelling, music and exploring new traditions and cuisines.
