About Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Masterclass Day Program

 This 24-session advanced half day program is based on the principles of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and aims to promote self compassion, acceptance of emotions and thoughts as well as strengthening the ability to commit to values guided actions. It builds on skills in the introductory program and details how to apply ACT skills to a range of issues such as sleep, grief, relationships, procrastination, anxiety and depression.

This program may be suitable for you if:

  • You have been avoidance situations, people or activities.
  • You have become disconnected from your self/identity.
  • You have become reliant of addictive behaviours such as substances or gambling.

What you will experience

Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions. The group will be led by qualified allied health professionals who will support group participants to share lived experiences, and to learn practical skills and evidence-based strategies for managing and reducing symptoms.

Treatment objectives

Objective 1

Review the skills of Acceptance, Mindfulness, Self Compassion, Values and Committed Action.

Objective 2

Learn how to apply ACT skills to manage Depression, Anxiety, Relationships and Anger.

Objective 3

Learn how to apply ACT skills to manage Sleep problems, perfectionism, procrastination and chronic pain.

Objective 4

Learn relaxation skills and how to connect with positive feelings.

How much does it cost?

South Coast Private has contract arrangements and approved programs with majority of private health funds, however, there may be some out of pocket expenses based on your level of cover. Patients that do not have private health insurance need to contact us to obtain cost estimate for day programs attendance

Who will find this program helpful?

Individuals who have a diagnosis of a mood or anxiety disorder, who have already completed the ACT introductory program and want to further enhance their ability to pursue their values and goals while minimising their suffering.
