About Adult ADHD Program

This half-day group program is designed to offer strategies that address the specific symptoms of ADHD in conjunction with other medication strategies. This skills-based group will support participants to make adjustments to their lives to improve their capacity to live with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
 

This program may be suitable for you if:

  • You can't finish tasks or projects.
  • You struggle to maintain attention when things are boring.
  • You have a diagnosis of ADHD.
  • You have negative thoughts about yourself for being lazy, disorganised, or unreliable.
  • You have difficulty with time management or procrastination.

What you will experience

Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions. The group will be lead by qualified allied health professionals who will support group participants to share lived experiences, and to learn practical skills and evidence-based strategies for managing the symptoms associated with ADHD, and teach skills such as time management, addressing procrastination, improving attention and motivation

Managing attention - Learn how to focus even when you're bored.

Time Management - Learn ways of structuring your day to be more productive.

Objective 3

Reduce Procrastination - Learn tricks to get yourself moving.

Objective 4

Improve Self-Esteem - Challenge those early beliefs you learnt about yourself when you struggled at school.

Objective 5

Dealing with Emotions - Learn how to manage the emotional sensitivity that comes with ADHD.

How much does it cost?

South Coast Private has contract arrangements and approved programs with majority of private health funds, however, there may be some out of pocket expenses based on your level of cover. Patients that do not have private health insurance need to contact us to obtain cost estimate for day programs attendance

Who will find this program helpful?

Individuals who have a diagnosis of ADHD and want to learn strategies for managing attention, distractibility and time management. This program will also address self-esteem and negative thinking commonly associated with ADHD.
