About Creative Therapies Day Program

This 12-session half day program is designed to provide a way to express oneself through different art activities and mediums. Creative Therapies engages a range of sense rather than relying solely on talking therapies. Art therapy can lead to enhanced well-being and increased self-awareness as well as discovering new perspectives and improve problem solving.
 

This program may be suitable for you if:

  • The way you feel makes it hard for you to focus on your usual activities or relax at the end of the day.
  • You've been feeling increasingly stressed, tense, or tired lately.
  • You want to harness or develop your creative abilities to help improve your mood.
  • You enjoy usual visual mediums like drawing, painting and ceramics or would like to learn.

What you will experience

Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions. The group will be led by qualified allied health professionals who will support group participants to share lived experiences, and to learn practical skills and evidence-based strategies for managing and reducing stress levels.

How to get started

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

South Coast Private has contract arrangements and approved programs with majority of private health funds, however, there may be some out of pocket expenses based on your level of cover. Patients that do not have private health insurance need to contact us to obtain cost estimate for day programs attendance.

Who will find this program helpful?

Individuals who have a diagnosis of a mood disorder, anxiety disorder or an addictive disorder and find creative activities beneficial. Individuals who have an interest in finding new ways to express oneself and explore problems creatively are encourages to attend this program. It is not necessary to have any art skills to participate.
