This is a 12-session day program designed to provide a safe treatment setting for participants to process the impacts of their trauma. Sessions utilise Cognitive Processing Therapy to evaluate the effect of the trauma on belief systems and create change by challenging negative thoughts and unhelpful behaviours.
Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions. The group will be led by a qualified allied health professional who will support group participants to share how trauma has impacted upon their belief system and provide new insights into how trauma can influence the perceptions we form. With new understanding participants will challenge unhelpful thoughts and modify their behaviour.
Understand the impact of trauma on models of thinking.
Learn how to effectively challenge and balance unhelpful beliefs.
Learn ways to modify future behaviour in accordance with new beliefs to improve quality of life.
Learn strategies to communicate more effectively within their support network.
Patients interested in attending this program will need a referral from a Psychiatrist with admission rights to South Coast Private Hospital.
